BAC offers the highly popular UK Transfer Degree Programme (Law) where students are given the option to complete a 1+2 (1 year at BAC in Malaysia and 2 years at a partner UK University) or 2+1 (2 years at BAC in Malaysia and 1 year at a partner UK University) depending on their preference and BAC sends in the region of 600 to 700 students a year to complete their final year in the United Kingdom. Few if any other institutions provide students the choice to access such a large number of universities to pursue their final year and best of all students receive a recognised UK qualifying degree but pay Malaysian prices not UK fees which can save more than 70% on UK costs! Upon successful completion of the programme, students will be awarded an internationally recognized LLB (Hons) degree from their chosen UK partner university. Students can choose from a variety of degrees offered by a range of top notch universities such as the universities of Reading, Cardiff, Aberystwyth, Northumbria, Liverpool, Sheffield, Hull and Hertfordshire. BAC’s UK Transfer Degree Programme (Law) is fully accredited by the Malaysian Qualifications Agency (MQA) and the UK Joint Academic Stage Board (JASB). Students graduating with a degree from a partner university will therefore be accorded UK Qualifying status, making them eligible for the Bar Professional Training Course (BPTC). Individuals intending to practice law with this degree can thus embark on either the BPTC in the UK or the Certificate in Legal Practice (CLP) in Malaysia (if a Malaysian or Malaysian Resident) or the equivalent certification in their own country. The University of London is truly one of the great universities of the world. A federation of 18 world-class Colleges and 10 specialist institutes, its reputation for high academic standards has been built on the outstanding teaching and research of its Colleges since 1836. University of London degrees are recognised internationally by governments, universities, employers and professional bodies as being of the highest academic quality and importantly allow the student to study the full three year course in Malaysia without the need to go to the UK. Since 1858, University of London degrees have been accessible to students all over the world through the University of London International Programmes, the longest standing flexible and distance learning programmes in the world. Over the years, many exceptional people who have studied with the University of London International Programmes have shaped our world. Former students include seven Nobel Prize winners, leaders of Commonwealth countries, government ministers, renowned authors, academics, judges and business leaders. Today, the University of London International Programmes is truly international in character with over 52,000 students in more than 190 countries. Academic direction for all of the courses offered through the University of London International Programmes is provided by Colleges of the University. Academics at these Colleges develop the syllabuses, prepare the study materials, and are responsible for the assessment of students. This means that students benefit from the academic rigour and leading-edge research undertaken by the Colleges. It also ensures that the standard of award made to International Programmes students is maintained at the same level as the standard of award made to students studying at one of the Colleges of the University. In the case of the undergraduate laws programme, academic direction is provided by six University of London Colleges with Law Schools or Departments, collectively known as the Laws Consortium. The six Colleges are: Birkbeck, King’s College London, London School of Economics and Political Science (LSE), Queen Mary, School of Oriental and African Studies (SOAS), and UCL (University College London). Upon successful completion of their studies, students are awarded a University of London degree or diploma. Although the standards of these awards are maintained at the same level as the standards of awards made to students studying at one of the Colleges of the University of London, the awards are distinct from degrees or other qualifications awarded by these Colleges. The certificate that students receive following graduation will state that the student was registered with the University of London and awarded a University of London degree or diploma. It will also state that examinations were conducted by the University of London Law Schools. [-]
