Why International Business Law
For those who choose the specialization in International Business Law, the program offers an innovative approach to transnational, Anglo-American and European business law. It covers a wide range of topics, such as contracts, project finance, commercial and investment arbitration, corporate law, securities regulation, EU internal market, and international tax law.

A truly international program
Students come from a wide range of backgrounds and countries. Our outstanding faculty includes prominent scholars from prestigious American and European universities and top lawyers from international law firms. Using interactive and innovative teaching methods, our faculty is able to utilize Católica’s extensive and modern resources to engage students in an exciting and meaningful way. LL.M. Católica is one of the few LL.M. programs in continental Europe that has been successful in bringing together top international academics and professionals from both Europe and the United States. Advanced LL.M in International Business Law is a one year program, running from September to July. The academic calendar is structured into three terms divided into 12 hours of classes per week, 4 hours a day, generally held in the mornings, from Monday to Saturday. Students must complete a total of 60 ECTS credits to meet the LL.M. degree requirements. This includes courses and seminars. Students may choose to enroll in the program on a part-time basis, extending the coursework over two academic years. This option allows busy professionals to set their own pace of study.
The Case Method
Classes will have a dual nature, emphasizing both practice and theory. Through the application of the case method teaching technique, students will be faced with difficult, yet practical problem-solving scenarios where in-depth analysis and reasoning will have to be applied. Serious preparation outside of class is required. Class discussion is encouraged and will be factored into the students’ final grade. Class attendance is supplemented by Católica Global School of Law website which features additional study materials and allows for enhanced student-faculty interaction.
The program is enriched with a regular series of academic and professional conferences hosted by Católica Global School of Law. These conferences bring the brightest and most respected legal minds, along with renowned international personalities, to Universidade Católica. Such conferences give our students the opportunity to meet, network, and interact with influential members of the international legal community.
During the academic year, enrolment in particular LL.M. seminars is made available to practitioners, who are not enrolled in the program. Their participation not only enhances our program’s diversity and increases the breadth of intellectual conversation, but provides a networking opportunity for both the LL.M. students and the professional community.
Católica Global School of Law offers three double degrees. One has been established with the King´s College in London. After completing the broadband curricular phase of the LL.M. at CGSL, the student will have the opportunity to specialize in a particular branch of Global Law, by attending courses and taking advantage of the library resources at King's College, allowing him or her to produce a piece of cutting-edge global legal scholarship. Católica Global School of Law´s students have also the opportunity to continue their studies in the Master of Laws (LL.M.) program at Cornell University Law School. They will obtain a strong international academic experience, as well as two degrees from cutting-edge global institutions. This additional degree from an Ivy League University will also allow students (complying with certain requirements in the LL.M.) to sit for the New York Bar exam. Católica Global School of Law LL.M.´s students has the opportunity to continue their studies in the MASTER OF LAWS (LL.M.) program at The University of Michigan Law School. They will obtain a strong international academic experience, as well as two degrees from cutting-edge global institutions. This additional degree will also allow students (complying with certain requirements in the LL.M.) to sit for the New York Bar exam. Accepted students will benefit from a 1/3 discount in the Michigan LL.M. important tuition. Católica Global School of Law LL.M.´s students have now the opportunity to continue their studies at Boston University School of Law. They will obtain a strong international academic experience, as well as two degrees from two global institutions. This additional degree will also allow students (complying with certain requirements in the LL.M.) to sit for the New York Bar exam.
Scholarships & Tuition Fees

Full-time program: 1 year
Option 1: €14.000 on July
Option 2: €15.000 payable in 10 monthly installments
Part-time program: 2 years
Option 3: €16.000 payable in 2 installments
Master Thesis: €1.700
Additional Semester Abroad: €2.250
All LL.M. candidates must have a law degree and professional experience. Preference will be given to candidates with a strong academic record and those with rich professional experience. You may submit your application at any time. LL.M. applications must be completed with all required documentation. Successful applicants will be sent a formal offer of admission signed by the LL.M. Director.

- 2 Letters of recommendation (in English or in Portuguese)
- Official transcripts from schools attended (in English or in Portuguese);
- Curriculum Vitae (in English) with dates and lengths of employment (maximum two pages long)
- Official letter of dispatch for students sponsored by corporations or other organizations
- Official TOEFL / IELTS score report, or certificate.
- Copy of Identity Card or Passport
- Copy of Fiscal Identification Number card
