Introduction
The dynamic character of Law becomes increasingly evident both in Greece and abroad and makes the application of national and international law to the legal problem at hand a highly interesting challenge. The objective of the experienced faculty of the Department of Law at DEI is to guide students step-by-step on how to acquire the means and methods they need to employ to meet this challenge. The programmes available, under the academic direction of the respective University, are: LLB – University of London International Programmes The international LLB programme offered by the University of London International Programmes runs under the academic supervision of Law schools or Departments of the University’s colleges, known as the “Laws Consortium”. These six colleges are Birbeck, King’s College London, The London School of Economics and Political Science, Queen Mary, the School of Oriental and African Studies, and UCL (University College London). The programme of study for the LLB programme consists of 12 modules (with the Dissertation included) and the duration of study is 3 to 8 years. Year 1 Common Law Reasoning and Institutions Criminal Law Contract Law Public Law Year 2 Property Law Law of Trusts Tort Law EU Law Year 3 Jurisprudence and Legal Theory Dissertation And 2 optional modules: Administrative Law, Civil and Criminal Procedure, Commercial Law, Company Law, Public International Law, Private International Law, Criminology, Family Law, Evidence, History of UK Law, Intellectual Property, International Protection of Human Rights, Introduction to Islamic Law, Labour Law, Succession. Bachelor of Laws (LLB) - University of Northampton This programme is for you if you: Want to obtain substantive knowledge in critical areas of English and EU law, as these areas have been developed to meet the challenges of modern society and the developments within the internal market of the Member States of the European Economic Area Would like to become members of an academic community which promotes close co-operation between students and academic staff and puts forward the development of the learning process into a participatory and pleasant experience Have vision and want to obtain a degree that will allow you to make the most of your abilities and achieve your career aspirations by fostering your critical thinking and your competence to analyze and synthesize knowledge and experiences you wish to acquire professional rights to enter the rapidly changing market of legal services in Greece and abroad Career opportunities On successful completion of the programme, you will have acquired not only the foundational and specialist knowledge, which is necessary for you to start your career as a lawyer, but also the transferable skills and competencies which are necessary for modern sectors of the services market such as public relations, communication, and NGOs.
