Presentation and objectivesThe purpose of the specialist course in law of new technologies is the acquisition by the student of a specific and advanced training, of an expert nature, oriented to professional specialization in the matter.
As is known, society is increasingly imbued with technology, which has changed the forms of social relationship and, of course, business.
The use of technology for the provision of services and for the purchase and sale of products, the obtaining and exploitation of data in this context (big data) and the appearance of new forms of technology, has caused greater complexity in legal relationships between commercial operators and between them and consumers themselves.
The regulation and legal consequences of such relationships have therefore become an issue of special importance and current relevance, which requires considering at the same time various disciplines of law that encompass the different existing drifts in this context.
On the other hand, specific and qualified training in this matter has not been identified in Malaga and its province, and there is a certain demand from university students and professionals, not only from the legal sector, but also from the IT sector who need certain knowledge legal for the performance of their work (or for its complementation).
Additionally, the impulse that the province of Malaga has been carrying out for some years in the technology sector is known. By way of example, it is worth highlighting the importance of the Andalusia Technology Park, based in Campanillas (Málaga), which, according to information on its own website, has an employment volume of more than 16,000 workers, and a total turnover of the installed companies in said park that exceeds 1,625 million euros, which highlights its relevance.
Consequently, there are reasonable expectations of the professional opportunities that the students could derive from the course.
