BAU International Academy of Rome

This course can be either offered in 6 weeks throughout 3 months, 10hrs per week and 15 hrs in the final week to be conducted at BAU International Berlin, BAU International University Washington DC or at BAU Bahcesehir University Istanbul; or concentrated in 30 hrs over 10 days for a full immersion in Environmental Law, combined with either Intellectual Property Law or Competition Law.

Intended learning outcomes

Upon successful completion of this course, participants will be able to:

  • Identify sources, fundamentals and major areas of the international environmental law; environmental protection vs sustainable development
  • Understand the role of a variety of actors who shape the world environmental policy and lead international negotiations under the impending challenges imposed by emerging issues such as climate change
  • Assess impacts and find side-effects of past EU policies in order to Identify techniques, procedures, and strategic areas to further improve compliance with the international environmental requirements, at national and EU level
  • Assess the impact of market transactions on third parties who are affected by such transactions without taking part, and be able to provide legal assistance as well as incorporate their interests and needs into business decisions and legal policies
  • Know how to apply rules to cases
  • Be able to engage in the analysis of the best practices and choose the right applicable solutions

  • Mid written oral test (30%)
  • Individual written exam (70%)
