Canterbury Campus The English and Italian Law programme gives you the opportunity to add valuable knowledge of Italian Law and Italian language to your degree: you spend a year studying law in Italy, after through language preparation and grounding in European legal systems at Kent. The year abroad: - entails study at the University of Bologna - where we have had a well-established link for many years. - is backed by two years' preparation - you advance your prior knowledge (if any) of Italian language in the two years before your year abroad and take a full-year module to introduce you to European legal systems, including the Italian. Year one The first year of the programme is carefully designed to give a grounding for your later studies in both English law, and in Italian language for your year abroad. The third year of the degree is spent at the University of Marburg where we have had a well-established link for many years. The year in Germany is backed by two years' thorough preparation - you advance your knowledge of German language in the two years before your year abroad and take a full-year module to introduce you to European legal systems. Year One The first year of the programme is carefully designed to give a grounding for your later studies in both English and German law. This course gives you valuable added depth and a European dimension to your degree, as well as offering an unforgettable experience in another country, without any requirement to learn another language. Students on the European Legal Studies degree spend their first two years at Kent, their third year at one of our European partner universities, and the fourth back at Kent.
