What is an LLM in Family Law? Typically designed to give students an in-depth knowledge of how to resolve disputes within a family, this program usually prepares students for careers through courses focused on legal topics related to family life. Students typically study abuse, neglect, divorce, support, and child custody. Courses on partnership, contracts, tax, and real estate may also be taken to give students comprehensive knowledge on the subject.

An LLM in Family Law usually prepares students for their careers by helping them develop several critical skills such as communication, problem-solving, and analytical competencies. Strong communication and problem-solving skills can enable students to connect with clients and design unique solutions to problems. Analytical skills can be useful in both personal and professional aspects of life.
