Master of Laws (LLM) in European Law

The Master Programme in European Law offered at Stockholm University is a one-year course of study. It is open to postgraduate students with a degree in law, wishing to expand their knowledge and understanding of European law. The principal topic of study is the legal system of the European Union.

The courses consist mainly of seminars and are aimed at providing the students with skills necessary for their future work as either practitioners or researchers of European law. This is achieved by teaching the students various ways in which to identify problems and generate solutions. Issues of practical interest are thus interwoven with a scholastic look on of various legal problems. This approach requires active participation on the part of the student in the form of a number of papers that have to be submitted during the year, involvement in case studies and participation in the annual European Moot Court Competition, where outstanding students are given the opportunity to represent the University in the international Moot Court Competition. Normally, only around 30 students are admitted each year.... [-]
