The LLM in Law (Erasmus-Europe) provides an exciting opportunity for students to obtain an LLM by studying both at Kent and at one of our partner universities in continental Europe (currently including the Université de Cergy-Pontoise in France) with all of the teaching conducted in English. Students on the LLM will study at two highly-rated international law schools, gain an understanding of two different legal systems, and experience two different European cultures. Programme Structure Students spend their first term at Kent, where they can choose to study any three of the taught LLM modules offered in the first term from the variety of taught LLM programmes offered in the Law School. The second term is spent at the partner university in Europe, where students complete an approved programme of study in Law. This will involve a choice of modules, taught in English, focusing on different aspects of European and international law (modules available at Cergy-Pontoise include Company Law, Intellectual Property, Civil Rights, Criminal Law and Procedure amongst others). Students also complete a 7-8,000 word Comparative Research Paper before the beginning of their third term.
