Bachelor of law FernUni Schweiz

The course provides a well-founded scientific basic training in the foundations of the Swiss legal sciences as well as their disciplines and applications: criminal law, private law, public law, antitrust law, legal methodology, commercial law, etc.

The students are well versed in the various legal areas and laws. The final exam is a scientific Bachelor's thesis.

Accompanying the self-study, there are attendance meetings every three weeks on a Saturday. The course of studies is based on current research discourses and basic decisions as well as modern learning methods.

The Bachelor of Law is conceived according to the guidelines of the legal education at Swiss university universities.

Bilingual studies

You have the option to complete the individual modules, either in German or French, at your own discretion.

If you take 60% of the modules in German and 40% in French, you will receive a bachelor's degree with the addition "bilingual".

Entrance Requirements

If you do not have a certificate of maturity according to Art. 6 para. 1 lit. (A) and (b) of the Regulatory Authority is admissible only if the acquired educational qualification is regarded as equivalent to a maturity. The Directorate decides on the equivalence of educational evidence.

linguistic proficiency

The course is only conducted in German. Very good knowledge of this language is therefore indispensable. In some modules basic knowledge is required in English, Italian and French.

module credits

Equivalent studies carried out at universities can be calculated provided that they have been completed a maximum of five years and have been completed with a sufficient grade. At least 120 of the 180 ECTS credits required for the Bachelor must be obtained from Fernuni Schweiz. In the case of existing advance payments, a corresponding application must be made within the scope of online enrollment.
