Introduction

Our Law with Criminology is a three-year course that focuses on key legal topics and a variety of different aspects of criminology, including crime, criminal justice and criminal behaviour. The law modules are predominantly delivered by professionally qualified lawyers with a high level of face-to-face tuition. The course has a practical focus, with real-world application of the law and criminology. Employability is integrated into the course to give you the academic knowledge and key transferable skills which are in demand by today’s employers. In the 2021 National Student Survey, the University of Law has been ranked first amongst universities in England for the category of 'teaching on my course'. Course Details

Full-time three year Law with Criminology

This course focuses on key legal topics and a variety of different aspects of criminology, including crime, criminal justice and criminal behaviour. It’s an ideal choice if you’re looking to pursue a career in the legal sector or, more specifically, within the criminal justice system. In addition to studying key legal topics, you will also study Criminology modules which examine the nature of crime and how it operates. The course focuses on key concepts, such as the definition of crime and how it is perceived within society.

Studying this balanced combination of law and criminology means that you have a great choice of career options to choose from. Not only could you continue your studies to become a qualified lawyer, but you can consider careers in politics, journalism, business or criminal investigation and analysis. This course is a great starting point from which to launch your career in the exciting worlds of law and criminology.

Assessment

At the end of each semester, you’ll get a week for revision before two weeks of assessments.

  • Exams: Two hours, ten multiple-choice questions and two long-form questions
  • Coursework: Essay, project report or portfolio
  • Oral presentation

We run mock assessments to allow you to practise before too.

Course Requirements

  • BBB at A Level and Grade C/4 or above in GCSE English Language or equivalent qualifications.
  • Students who will be under the age of 18 but no younger than 17 at the commencement of the course are permitted.
  • International requirements: An English language level equivalent to IELTS 6.5 or above with a minimum of 6.0 in each component.

Fees are locked for future study years, i.e. the student will pay the same price each year.
