Overview
At a critical time in history, our LLM in Company Law and Corporate Governance presents an exciting opportunity for you to develop a deep understanding of the relationships between law and the regulation of corporations – and graduate to meet the growing demand for specialist lawyers that can embrace the challenges and opportunities of conducting business in a globalised society.
Our LLM Programmes, including the LLM in Company Law and Corporate Governance, are well-respected by leading law firms*, international businesses and non-governmental organisations. This LLM pathway offers an in-depth, intensive study of law and regulation of both corporate activities and the relationships between business actors and their shareholders and stakeholders.
Core theoretical debates will be explored alongside relevant international and national laws and the contexts in which they operate. You will be challenged and inspired by world-leading lawyers dedicated to progressive and innovative thinking on a wide range of related issues – with those teaching the course all members of the Law School’s Centre for Law and Enterprise.

Admissions
Entry Criteria
An upper second-class honours degree in law. International students with equivalent qualifications should supply a transcript of their examination results (this should be an official English translation if the original is not in English).
Recognised Prior Learning is not currently accepted. Previous or professional experience is not required.

Curriculum
Course structure
We have a large and vibrant international community and University of Bristol LLM students benefit from small class sizes. Our exciting range of optional units reflects the expertise of our globally renowned academics and an opportunity to further specialise your degree.
You will take four units (120 credit points overall, 30 credit points each) and a compulsory dissertation (60 credit points). Specialist units include both Company Law and Corporate Governance in the UK and the US – and cover other areas of interest, such as human rights law, labour law or international law.
