At a critical time in history, our LLM in International Law provides you with an exciting opportunity to gain a deep understanding of the role of public international law - and graduate to meet a growing demand for expert lawyers with the skills and knowledge to embrace the challenges of the increasingly complex relations between states.
Our LLM programmes, including the LLM in International Law, are well-respected by leading law firms*. This programme explores the pressures that arise from particular areas of international law and international policy, and the role of law in setting the framework for decision-making and as a tool for achieving policy goals. The course also covers issues with private international law through specialist units in International Commercial Litigation, Arbitration a range of commercial law units.

Course structure
We have a large and vibrant international community and University of Bristol LLM students benefit from small class sizes. Our exciting range of optional units reflects the expertise of our globally renowned academics and an opportunity to further specialise your degree.
You will take four units (120 credit points overall, 30 credit points each) and a compulsory dissertation (60 credit points). You have the option of taking three specialist International Law units and one unit from any of our other LLM programmes.
