About Touro College Touro College was founded in New York City in 1970 by Dr. Bernard Lander as a Liberal Arts college. Since the 1970’s, the expansion of the college has reached California, Nevada, Israel, Russia, and Germany. In 2001, Dr. Lander asked Sara Nachama to work together and establish Touro College in Berlin. In 2005, Dr. Lander was inspired by a visit to the Holocaust Memorial in Berlin and wanted to set up a Holocaust Institute at Touro. The Lander Institute for Communication and Tolerance was established on the Touro College Berlin campus in 2006. In the fall semester 2007, the department welcomed its teaching staff for the Masters in Holocaust Communication program. The MBA program was introduced shortly after in 2010 and the Bachelor’s of Arts in Psychology was established in 2013. The Olympic Studies Centre (OSC) at the German Sports University Cologne (GSU) was founded in 2005 and was established as a central research and teaching facility. The OSC Cologne ́s structure contains four pillars, serving as an Olympic Research Centre, Olympic Teaching Centre, Olympic Consulting Centre and Olympic Archive Centre. Since 2005, it has continuously developed its profile in research and teaching and is today one of the leading Olympic Studies Centres on the … [+] national and the international level. Professor Dr Stephan Wassong is the Director of the OSC Cologne Studies and a member of the IOC’s Olympic Education Commission. The other staff members include Dr Ansgar Molzberger, Dr Jörg Krieger and Caroline Meier. The profile of the OSC Cologne meets the expectations of a modern university landscape and its current activities in research, teaching, consulting and archival work are examples of how the key objectives of the OSC Cologne can be met.
